Dr. Ruwayda Mustafah, a British-Kurdish advocate, is deeply committed to supporting children with disabilities. In 2019, she established the ‘Hope Autism Society’ at the U.K. parliament, a volunteer-led initiative focused on enhancing public understanding of autism spectrum disorder.

In addition to her efforts in the realm of children’s advocacy, Dr. Mustafah passionately works towards promoting increased female participation in politics. Through her active participation in the 50:50 Parliament Project, she conducts online workshops, providing empowerment and support to women aspiring to become candidates for the UK parliament, with the aim of fostering a robust support network.

Furthermore, Dr. Mustafah contributes valuable insights on the sociopolitical landscape of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region through a regular column, available in both English and Kurdish languages. Her contributions play a positive role in enriching the dialogue surrounding the region’s affairs.

Beyond her professional pursuits, Dr. Mustafah, a mother of two boys and one girl, has dedicated herself to strengthening her children’s heritage bonds with Kurdistan. She has authored numerous children’s stories in the English language, promoting Kurdish culture and values to foster a deeper connection with their roots.
